Perez Family Summer 2003

JUNE

Our Summer in California begins in June.  The first major event for the summer was Randy Perez's 8th Grade Graduation ceremony held here in downtown San Jose, at the Civic Center.  Congratulations to Randy on this achievement.  We celebrated with dinner at Randy's favorite restaurant at Chili's, Randy loves his baby back ribs.

Let the summer begin, we were not planning on doing anything special in June, due to the economic times.  But when Joey received an e-mail from DJ Laurie Roberts at 98.5 KFOX, letting Joey know about a special promotion for $10.00 lawn tickets at the Shoreline Amphitheater for Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ted Nugent, and ZZ Top.  I couldn't refuse, and bought tickets for us all and for our best friends Richard and Chuck.  What you need to know about this ticket purchase is a week prior to this e-mail Joey tried to purchase the same tickets directly from Shoreline at the promotional price but they told me they were sold out.  Joey was bummed about not being able to get the tickets.  But then came the e-mail................... and the Perez family was off to see ZZ Top.  We went Nationwide with our Cheap Sunglasses showing off our Legs and shaking our Tush at the "Hell Raisers and Beer Drinkers Tour".  With all the Sharp Dressed Men, Rough Boys, Got Me Under Pressure, with the bikers with Dude Rags.

(True Story) How weird is it when you are in the bath room doing your business and the guy standing next to you says, "Dude, I like your Dude Rag", you look up at him and his dude Rag is white and black in Zebra stripe pattern. You respond, "Thanks, yours is cool, also", and your wearing a dude Rag that is white and black in Zebra stripe pattern.  THIS CAN ONLY HAPPEN AT A ZZ TOP CONCERT WITH A MILLION BIKERS.

Not to leave out Ted Nugent, he just kicked a**, on stage.  For a fifty year old he can still Jam and rip on a guitar.  His stage was set up with sand bags, camouflage nets, etc.  It was his salute to the U.S. troops.  He played all his great tunes, Stranglehold, Cat Scratch Fever, Kiss My A**,

        Free fishing day.

JULY

The Perez family did not do anything real exciting.  We did have the traditional BBQ for the Fourth of July.
